Law Enforcement & Homeland Security
Fear affects the way people live. Without a sense of safety, children can’t learn, businesses don’t thrive, cultural institutions lose audiences, and neighborhoods collapse. Therefore, the Milstein family and their businesses engage with law enforcement agencies and promote anti-crime initiatives. In the 1970s, urban street crime peaked. By 1981, crime rates leveled off and started a steep decline which, for the most part, continues in the present. Today, fear of street crime has been replaced with fear of terrorism. The issues have changed, but their support has remained steadfast.
